The Dynafit TLT boot line has been at the forefront of the backcountry ski boot market for many years, and the updated TLT8 Expedition is no exception. On the TLT8, two ratcheting buckles operate independently of one another to provide a simple and effective closure system, replacing the somewhat complex single buckle routed-cable system found on previous models. A slightly taller cuff and a marginally larger (5 degrees) range of motion increase both skiability and walkability, while the ski/walk lever got a larger buckle, making life easier for gloved hands. The fully moldable Dynafit CR liner allows the shop to get this boot molded and feeling perfect, great for folks with trouble feet or who just don't want to go through a painful break-in process. Carried over from the TLT7 is the lightweight, roomy lower shell that accommodates wide and high volume feet with its 103mm last, making it a great option for folks who need a high volume boot.
